Alec Zhu Contributes To Worcester Academy Math Team's 7th Regional MATHCOUNTS Win In 8 Years #WAMiddleSchool

The Worcester Academy Middle School Math Team recently won its seventh regional MATHCOUNTS competition in eight years, making it eligible to advance to the state championships in Boston. Among the members playing an important role was Alec Zhu, Grade 6, of Shrewsbury.

The team beat numerous public, independent, and charter schools to secure the title in convincing fashion and defend its MATHCOUNTS title.

In January, the team took first place at an Intermediate Math League of Eastern Mass Competition.

The wins build on the successes of the Worcester Academy math program, both in Upper and Middle School, that have cemented the Academy's reputation as a math powerhouse, with students excelling in competitions at the local, state, regional, and national levels.
