Varun Nair Participates In Upper School Dexter Prize Speaking Contest

2013 Nov 6

Worcester Academy's Varun Nair, of Bolton, Class of 2016, participated in the Upper School Dexter Prize Speaking Contest that took place on Oct. 22 in Ross Auditorium, Warner Theater.

The Dexter Prize Speaking Contest has a long and storied history at Worcester Academy and has flourished in recent years with support from an alumnus, Hervey Ross '46. Dexter Prize participants speak for roughly five minutes to an audience of more than 500 students. The contest, held three times a year, includes cash prizes for the winners. The participants learn self-confidence and the ability to communicate clearly, two important characteristics for effective leadership and success.

Upper School Dexter Prize facilitator is faculty member Jack Haringa, a 1986 alumnus of Worcester Academy, who participated in Dexter Prize during the time he was a student at WA.
