Worcester Academy's Brittany Williams Participates In 'Doggie Paddle for NEADS'

2014 Mar 17

Worcester Academy's Brittany Williams, Grade 12, of Worcester was a participant in a recent community service fundraiser, "Doggie Paddle for NEADS," to benefit the training of assistance dogs. WA students, who swam the benefit in the pool in Daniels Gymnasium, completed anywhere from 5-10 kilometers for the fundraiser.

Brittany excels both in and out of the pool while also embracing each of our core values: honor, respect, community, personal growth, and challenge. Brittany has built camaraderie, developed strategies for competition, and learned valuable lessons about achieving goals through Worcester Academy's athletic program.

Many alumni credit their Worcester Academy athletic experience, as well as our excellent academics, as having prepared them for success in college and later life.

ABOUT NEADS

NEADS (National Education for Assistance Dog Services, also known as Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans), is a non-profit organization that was established in 1976. Its mission is to provide independence to people who are deaf or have a disability through the use of canine assistance. Assistance dogs become an extension of their handlers and bring freedom, physical autonomy and relief from social isolation to their human partners.
