Worcester Academy's Varun Nair of Bolton, Grade 12, conducts advanced French research at the Worcester Art Museum #realLEARNING #realWORLD

2016 Jun 13

Students in Dr. Timothy Markey's advanced French and Latin language classes at Worcester Academy conducted original research using source documents and Renaissance texts, including some dating to the 16th century. Among the students was Varun Nair of Bolton, Grade 12, who conducted French research at the Worcester Art Museum.

Dr. Markey and his Worcester Academy Latin IV Honors students examined Renaissance Latin texts, including "The Shepherd's Calendar" and "Virgil's Eclogues," dating prior to 1600, at UMass-Ahmerst. His AP French Language and Culture students visited the Worcester Art Museum (WAM), where they researched French culture and the arts with help from Debby Aframe, a WAM and College of the Holy Cross librarian, who partnered with WA students.
